There is something wrong in the Sisterlands. The four Queendoms have been ruled by goddess-like Queens for centuries, but now their magic is fading.

Lottie, a peasant from the warrior Queendom of Kvedwulf, has a bad reputation, the affection of Prince Arkyn, and a new role in teaching Mina the ways of her bloodthirsty people. Together, they try to prepare Mina for the throne, her marriage to Arkyn, and a strange new future without magic.
